  • Studied Protestant theology in Bethel, Heidelberg, Vienna and Münster
  • 1965/1969: 1st and 2nd theological exams
  • 1968: Doctorate in Münster (New Testament)
  • 1968-73: Research assistant in Münster
  • 1973-1980: academic Councilor at the University of Lüneberg
  • 1977: Habilitation (second book) in practical theology/religious education at the University of Bern, Switzerland.
  • 1981: Chair of Religious Education and Didactics of Protestant Religious Education at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg
  • 2007: Emeritus status
  • 2010: moved from Nuremberg to Goslar
